After some great help from c0b4lt and matey, the wormbot in server 3 is now working and ready for wars. I will stop it running apart from wars, however its running now for all to see. The only thing I will need to do is work out how to password the channel.

Using the built in IRC in UT2K4 or something like Trillian (free), connect to the following......

irc.quakenet.org:6667
#vmserver3 - for live server action
#vmclan - for general chat

If you wish to talk to people in game on server3 from IRC #vmserver3, prefix what you want to say with "!say" (without quotes e.g. "!say hello all" = hello all).
Please feel free to comment, ideas are welcome!

Why do we need to password that channel? And why can't we keep it on? Because #vmserver3 should only be used for that bot =), we can chat in #vmclan. Because from now on, I leave mIRC open the whole time, it's nice to see who's in it w/o opening ut. (and xfire only shows where the buddys are)

ok dude we can keep it on :-D
urm, the only reason i was thinking about a pass was incase some random dude trys to come into IRC and spam loads of crap into the war, i just mean password during a war, the other option i can see is to disable the chat relay between the server and irc during a war, this would prob be better as then anyone can watch the war from IRC, only downside is no1 can chat to server!

(i dont know if u know but the reporter bot and chat bot kinda work seperatly and can use different channels etc)

perhaps we could password #vmclan during a war, and have chat to server3 linked to #vmclan channel. Then people can watch war, and members can talk when they need to in #vmclan?

When I yesterday asked assasin8r why people get auto-voiced in their channel, their answer was because if you have +v on, you can chat in a moderated channel, maybe we could change it to a moderated channel and also use that +v thing in it? people have to ask in #vmclan to be added to an autovoice list? But don't know how to autovoice people =) (only how to do it manually)
I think vardy has a script for that =)

we can use following command for password on the channel:
/MODE #vmserver3 +k

and +m is for moderated.

ah, i think i get what u mean, so like...

anyone...
#vmserver3 = only watching server activity
#vmclan = chat for all + server3 chat bot

clan/war members
#vmclan + having +v for selected people = chat for all plus server chat privilages when !say is typed (eg stops randoms using !say command)

i will have to look more into the v thing :-) have i understood?

No, personally I think that wouldn't be very logic (looking what happens in a server, and then you need to type in another channel...), I was thinking about #vmserver3 as a moderated channel, in that channel use both bots. And we put v on people we know, e.g. our members but also members from other clans we know.

The only problem we have is how can we auth those bots? If those bots are auth'ed through Q, I think we can give him automatically +v (with the L-bot).

so auth every player with v in every clan we play etc, sounds like a head %^$£ u can do that if u like lol :-D
