Well, just wanted to show people who haven't seen this, from the new final fantasy 13, imho these graphics are just amazing. The fine line between reality and graphics is getting much more fine! :biggrin:

Heh shit. Still looks as a plastic lifeless thing.
We've got the technology to emulate real human skin since 1998, but still nobody could do it (except in the LotR).
The eye looks everything but not a real eye. In a real eye you can see bloodlines even on this (relative small) resolution.
And the face: people will never learn that if a face looks too perfect (perfectly simmetric), then it will be never real. Okay in this point people with photoshop "plastic up" real photos already, but summary all, this picture is nothing else just a general CGI, and nothing seems to be real on it.

Since the beggining of this "realistic CGI" shit, each time when people could resolve one problem the idiots all over from the world says "wow how fantastc and looks like real one". Idiots, think before you say anything crap like this! Almost 10 years ago now, when Unreal Tournament has been released, all retard from all over the world said: "wow how fantastc and looks like real one" but now if you watch UT graphics, you gona laught it.

Now you say to this picture "wow how fantastc and looks like real one", after 10 year you gona laught this one too.

Think twice before you say someting like as "look like real one", before you make an idiot from you.

Illusion is the biggest weapon of today's corporation, be immune against this and much more sceptism, pessimist, and so on. Or if you gona belive what you see, then you will be the biggest sucker on the world! (Typical example if i photograph my cellphone, and put it here and i ask the materials from it all of you will gona say "it made from metal").

Ye on the subject of realizm they have a new toy called lightstage. Its a recording device. A big orb with the subject in the middle. The orb is made of high tech cameras all flashing off so fast that all u see is a bright round room. Slow it down to bullet time and u see the cameras goin off in turn. This creates a 3D wireframe modle so huge and complex that they cant even use it in anything yet :D the data it records is just silly. Every fine detail and near invisible blemish in the skin is recorded and turned into a 3D modle. This modle can then be animated by seperate software to do whatever, including light effects. Bu light effects I dont mean some silly light bulb, its ray traced orgasmic perfection. Its not a "video booth" its a "cyber clone pod" :D Seen it in action.. mind blowing shit.

@Necc: I think the whole point with FF13 CGI is that they are trying to make it look cool and sell it... Why do you want skin blemishes and blood lines in the eye!?! Geez... No one is gonna buy that! Actors spend their whole lives trying to get rid of their little skin blemishes xD (and infact middle class americans all spend their lives trying to get rid of skin blemishes by having endless plastic surgery.....................).

So, you missed the point :D
